Step 1 – Begin cutting your pipes after measuring them according to your required length. You can remove any burrs by simply using a pocket knife. Make sure that the cut should be as square as possible to come up with a leak free installation after the project. Uneven ends may sometimes cause water leaks in your connections.

Step 2 – When connecting fittings, you must take the gloss off on both ends of the connection that is the end of the pipe and the inside of the fitting, by using a piece of emery paper. Once ready, wipe both ends with PVC cleaner.

Step 3 – For installing riser tees, it would be necessary to fit the pieces together dry at first and then mark the alignment using a felt tip pen or a marker.

Steps 4 – After preparing the PVC pipe, begin actual connections. Start by coating both surfaces with PVC solvent before you connect the pieces together. Insert the connections as far as you can then give the pipe a 1/4 turn to spread the solvent and leave it to dry for a two hours.

Step 5 – Once the solvent dries up, you can start testing your connections and run water through the pipe. Observe if there are leaks on your connections.
